Luke Rodgers BEM.
Founder of Lukarah.
Hello, I'm Luke Rogers BEM, the photographer behind Lukarah.
My journey over the past 11 years in the social enterprise sector has deeply influenced my approach to photography. I've found that through my lens, I can capture and tell stories that not only inspire but also reflect the genuine challenges and joys of our society.
My photography was fuelled by the realisation of its power to redefine narratives. I've witnessed first-hand how seeing authentic photography and the use of natural light can bring immense joy and self-recognition. This is one of the reasons for the name Lukarah, which means: ‘where light meets joy’.
My style is artistic, and my experience in sensitive environments has honed my skill in making people feel comfortable and at ease. This approach allows me to capture natural, beautiful images that truly reflect who you are. When you're with me, it won't feel like a typical photo session. Instead, it will be fun, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable.
My philosophy in photography is simple – to capture authenticity. I steer away from constructed environments and posed shots. My goal is to photograph you in places that bring you joy, to capture the real, unfiltered you.
Throughout my career, I've launched several multimedia projects, telling stories about people from the social care sector, working on fostering recruitment campaigns, among others. These experiences have enriched my perspective and skill in storytelling through photography.
At my core, I'm passionate about people and photography. These twin passions drive me, and I'm excited to bring them together at Lukarah, capturing moments of joy and authenticity in every shot. The essential light needed to capture stunning photography, meets your joy - the essence of what brings you to life.
